Boost cut-off?
Is there a factory boost cut off valve anywhere or is it linked to the ecu?
I've now got my boost up to about 0.9/0.95bar, but any higher than that it's like something else steps in at 1 bar and cuts the power quite abruptly like a rev limiter does.

In the end of the plenum on a mk1 with 2 wires going to it not sure where it is on a mk2,but yes it certainly sound like your hitting the boost cut.
Maybe a mk2 owner can help.

Got it! Left hand side of the inlet manifold on a mk2 and right hand side on mk1. I'll disconnect and see what happens

I think mk2's have a rev limiter in the ecu. Well at least I think I read it somewhere.
Edit: yes I remember reading a review where they said the rev limiter was installed on software in the ecu.

It's the wires with the oversized rubber dome protection on the left hand side of the inlet... Disconnected and see how she goes next dry weekend day I take her out
