Cant completly make it out from the pic but your sump looks quite badly dented?

I think the oil pump pick up sits around that area and if it dented enough to restrict it it can cause oil pressure issues, maybe worth taking it off and changing it or at least knocking the dent out.

Maybe someone has a pic of how the oil pump sits but i am pretty sure it is in that area.

Also while i am looking at it i think you should invest in a new jack, and my god your brave using the sills Surprised
Also not tryng to come across as a dick here but for god sake when ever under a car put something under it incase it falls Shocked

A large block of wood or an axle stand or even the wheels you have taken off will do,could save your life mate Smile

I use like a garage jack and normally jack up on the rear beam or under the rear wishbone mount at the front of the car that can be seen in your 6th pic down.

Either you don't intend to keep this car for long, or you have filled these holes with filler as temporary measure to get it through an MoT ???

Which one is it ??? Suspect No

Hey rich thanx for update..

When i was under the car i had bricks under the front when i was cleaning the car. i was in a rush could not wait but my 2 ton trolley jack just come through..

I have ordered Axel jacks to but again i have to wait for them to come through the post. And yeah the seals under the car are good but i understand i should use the front and back wishbone mount or rear beam which i will do for future reference.. its nice to always get some tips and help to what to do. Its like i said before i have never worked on cars before.. normally just hand the keys to the garages. But just for some odd reason i do not trust some garages they might damage or rag the car about..

But i will never again put jack on the seals because i know fiats are known of erosion and rust.. So that's good advise.

But i have plenty of work to crack on with this car like i said before i want it totally rust free which only little bit left to do surface rust on doors and bit on bonnet hatch doors meaning in the inner part tiny bit but just don't like it. under the car no rust just want to do the rear beam and were the wishbones mount. i will do that when the wishbones and CV joints change.

then finally just the inside left to do clean wash and do a respray on the car. Then cover the car back up and leave it for years to come Smile

And as for the bottom end of the engine i have a spare engine well as another bottom end i have plenty of parts for the car in my garage. So i will take a look into that Smile

Hey unograle the car has a years M.O.T when it goes again this year i got a good friend who does Welding but i used p40 first then p38 and i will get him to do any welding on the car its not about the money that's not a issue just right now doing this is better then it going worse. And when it comes to m.o.t i would have everything done.. i can get it welded down there...

Thank

Yeah your doing good mate everyone has got to start somewhere, good to see your getting stuck in.,but as unograle mentions it really needs welding, the longer you leave it the worse it will get with these things Neutral
If its a temp fix till the mot it should be ok though but dont neglect it when the time comes.

Yeah i would definatally consider changing the sump if you have a spare,it should be fine if you have been driving it about this long just double check your oil pressure to make sure its all good.
Cant remember the exact figures off hand but the main thing is it should rise when the revs increase.

I think mine is just over 1bar at hot idle and proberly 3-4bar when driving or holding it at set revs say 3-4k.

Post by LondonTurbo Sun Feb 17, 2013 5:23 pm

Hey rich thanx for the positive feedback.. see the thing i did it was because i did not want it to go too bad this is my 3rd turbo as in cars wise lol. But as i said i have to do the doors they are literally just surface rust barely see it when its done i will do that from garage when it goes for a respray.. but respray will be the last of last things to do.. once i'm happy with the car as in all the work under car as in the frame which holds wishbones and back hammerited so that way all the bottom end of the car would be nice and clean just the back two arches which would get welded. and the bonnet hatch again i will temporary cover it its just the paint has flaked off sand smooth it down and temp spray it..

Then i will let it go for a respray and knows its in prestige condition accept the 2 places of welding on arches.

But unograle is right and i tottaly respect his straight up honesty but by this year Dec latest coming Feb car will be 100% completed resprayed and just parked up DRY STORED Wink..

FINALLY LAST QUESTION THE CAR HAS BEEN OBVIOUSLY RESPRAYED I CANT SEEM TO FIND OUT WHAT COLOR IT IS LOL ...

Mk1 HORMANN UNO TURBO ANTISKID - Page 2 Empty Mk1 HORMANN UNO TURBO ANTISKID DIGITAL DASH

Post by LondonTurbo Tue Feb 26, 2013 3:46 pm

Hey guys again sorry for not posting much or getting much done always busy with work and training.. now to the point i guess i will get mixed views about this like i always says everyone to there own.. But i have always wanted a digital dash in my UNO TURBOS could not come accross one been doing the research to see what to do to fit it does not seem to be hard expect the turbo boost guage which you would have to run from the ecu which i do not really want to fiddle with so i wanted to know it has a vacum hose at the back of the old retro dash.. is it possible to attach a seprate boost guage a basic one and run the vacum hose to that and use it that way.. I would be very grateful is somone sould shed some light on this because i really dont want to mess with the ecu wires..

FRONT OF THE DIGITAL DASH..

BACK OF DIGITAL DASH

PLEASE COULD GUYS WHO TELL ME IF POSSIBLE TO ATTACH A BOOST GAUGE SEPARATE USING VACUM HOSE WHICH IS USED ON THE NORMAL UNIT AND IS IT STRAIGHT FORWARD TO FIT IN...

yes mate you could just use a after market stand alone boost gauge of the standard boost gauge vacum line but depending where you goin to mount it you would probably need to extend the vacum line or reroute it but if you want to see the gauge at night time they still need wiring in to the lights which is easy enough

Surely some one on here knows exactly which wire it is from the ecu top get the boost gauge working working so risk would be made?

Hey Turboheads thank rob for the insight with the digital dash information. I will order two boost guages one will be for the boost for the car. and the second one for the bleed valve. and i was thinking of mouting them on the right hand side of the dash and as for vacum hose i got about 3 meters of it. as for the light like you said its easy can wire it to when puting the dim lights on that it comes on straight away..

And vern i rather not risk it and end up with more work on my hands a nice boost gauge on the side will do thank you guys..

UPDATE:
The inner cv joints have come and wishbones..
need to shampoo the car inside so it looks new
tiny bit of sorting door and bonnet hatch surface rust.. obviously the body kit has tiny bits of wear but as i said before once the car is completed then send it for a respray.. Smile

You guys must be thinking why is there bit of vinyl on the top its just because there was a big crack on the screen and did not like it so covered it bit not that it makes any effect on viewing the screen.

Thank you for your time

You only need one boost gauge mate, plumbing one into the bleed valve/actuator hose wont tell you anything.

A single aftermarket boost gauge which you can plumb in using the original vacuum line will do,what that reads is what boost you are running, adjusting the bleed valve will obviosly affect the reading.

as i said before i do like your car a lot but from that picture you can see it needs a different bonnet.
you thought about getting wheel spacers to fill out those arches?
you can get hubcentric ones (think that's what they call them).
