Re: Uno Turbo i.e 1.9l 8v
Impressive mate with a standard bottom end:)
Is that with a mk1 crankshaft?
I'm going down a similar route as you know, PGT management going in. Mine has a forged MK2 crank giving the 1.4 displacement. With forged pistons, rods etc flowed head already on it , your results are making me think greedy power, more than i was originally thinking now!

I'd like to hear your thought on your current setup? Can you make comparisons to a st uno with the st management? Do you have any old dyno graphs to compare these with?
Looking at the graphs you are pretty much getting the same hp 1000rpm earlier and torque 500rpm earlier just form 10deg cam advance, would be interesting to see it against a st uno dyno graph.

Re: Uno Turbo i.e 1.9l 8v
Interesting.
I need low rpm torque for my sprinting. Due to sprint/hillclimb regs I can't change the cc much (max would be 1425) as there is a +40% capacity for forced induction. I want to stay in the up to 2000cc class.
I'd like to have a good 200hp without mega lag but it seems its a tough ask!
Dare I say it, I'm considering selling the uno and building a Mk2 Punto S2000 type car...

Re: Uno Turbo i.e 1.9l 8v
The Gt3 must have been pretty quick off the mark. 9.3:1 is quite high CR, do you know what makes the compression in the GT3 differ from the uno? My class regs require the head and block to remain externally identifiable as that fitted to the specified model - Uno Mk1/Mk2.
I just want bags of torque across as much of the rev range as poss. I'll be building this engine over the winter. Got a CB270 cam and gt3 engine/management ready. Also going to port and port match the head/inlet, have you ported your head?

Re: Uno Turbo i.e 1.9l 8v
I'll be keeping the high CR of the PGT3 then as that will help with off boost torque.
This is what I plan at the moment:
Mk1UT block
PGT3 crank, rods and pistons
PGT3 head (ported and port matched)
CB270 cam with adj wheel
Mk1UT inlet manifold
PGT TT stage 1 turbo (quite slow spool currently)
Good cold air feed
Cosworth FMIC
Big injectors
Adj Fuel pressure regulator
Twin fuel pumps
FC Map
PGT3 management
I hope this will give the results I'm looking for.

Re: Uno Turbo i.e 1.9l 8v
Do you think the GT3 management, CB270 cam and the FC map are able to make the TT stage one turbo spool quicker than my current UTMk2 cam and management?
Sorry to flood your thread with my own Uno development, should be on my own thread!

Re: Uno Turbo i.e 1.9l 8v
Thanks.
What's a .48 exhaust housing?
I'll be stripping the GT3 engine down soon so will start putting it up on my project thread.
Cheers for the info.

Re: Uno Turbo i.e 1.9l 8v
I'm in a similar boat to Liam, would love 233BHP but dont like the idea of all that lag.
I also have the 1.3 bottom end, and Lightweight italian racing pistons / rods, i'm waiting for new rings then will rebuild it with GT1 management and a fresh rebored block.
It has an avanti Hybrid turbo, which looks like a mk1 turbo but has bigger wheels similar to T25
I'll get it mapped but with high revving and mid torque in mind, in current sate it wouldn't rev past 6000! may be was due to one worn bore . It was a high reving engine and has had loads of head work, so should perform...
Be interesting to see the difference the PGT management makes and a fresh block / ring setup
Same you guys can't have a sesh at Goodwood or Brands so i can compare lap times!

Re: Uno Turbo i.e 1.9l 8v
I guessed it might be the turbine housing. Its a shame variable geometry turbos aren't developed much for petrols yet. Porsche have used one recently I believe.
Rich, I'm not really into circuits unless they are really tight. I don't like all that run-off, I guess that's why I do Hillclimb.

Nice1 , will be up for that one year , do you go round on your own or in a group of mates?!
I just thought a track get together would be fun to compare cars, always beneficial to see similar cars as was Santa Pod even though i'm not that into drag racing - was still fun!
