Re: Retro Show 2014 Sunday 22nd June
Before I get on to the cars, id like to start by say how nice it was to meet those that turned up yesterday and finally put some faces to the cars:)
I first saw Chris (Blondechris) flying passed me on the M1, I was tempted to put my foot down but as I am still running the UT in I held back. Arriving at the Pod, I drove round the perimeter road and saw Jeremy (Jasracing) smiling so guessed that must be where the forum stand was. It turned out to be the show and shine area but as there were no UTs where we were supposed to be I thought, what the hell.
With 3 UTs now in the show and shine area, we were really flying the flag for the italian Jack Russell (Fast and full of muscle)
Anyway as I said, I wanted to start this post with you, the guys to work tirelessly to keep the UT alive and present in the 21st Century, a place it had no right to be considering its reputation for oxidation.
What a fantastic bunch of guys you all are. One of the reasons I sold my Grale was because alot of the people who owned them were...cocks. But the down to earth, real and 'normal' guys I met yesterday are a testiment to the great little cars they own. It was A pleasure gents:)
Anyway, the cars:)
Chris (Blondechris) I was never a fan of the MK2 UT as I felt it had lost its charm and uniqueness as Fiat entered the 90's but Chris's car is a fine blend of 80s Hot Hatch and refinement which lets face it, the MK1 wasnt blessed with. The Tipo 16v wheels in the factory diamond cut finish really do set the car off with its perfect stance and extended colour coding, it really has won me over.
Jeremy (Jasracing) Mate, you need to get your self a new TV or a wife cause that UT is atmospherical!! Did I just make up a word there? Hey, who cares its worthy of it. With its 'New' early MK1 seats and perfect attention to detail, it really does set the bar for the purist MK1 lover. Apart from the wheel of course which are not std but im far from being a purist and I think they look great:))))
Mark (ST1allstar) then arrived in his white MK1 looking soooo clean. Cant wait to see it finished mate.
And then there was the Hormann, wow! what a blast from the past:))) Did get to chat but great car.
Well what a day, great cars and great owners...Does it get any better?

Good show in nice weather and it was good to see a few Uno's. I got lots of compliments for mine and even an offer to buy at £10k!
Good to chat with friendly fellow Uno owners, and to see Hakydan's car in the flesh - wow! .
Next time we must get a group photo of all the cars!

P.S. Sorry for starting the trend of parking in Show & Shine - my very persuasive mate talked me into entering just before we set off for the 'Pod...

Re: Retro Show 2014 Sunday 22nd June
Great day, great weather and some great looking uno's. Thanks to all that came along for the day Always nice to meet new people on here.
Shame all the unos was not all in one place LOL BUT i think the show and shine was the best place for them all.
Well done to gtirx2 for the new PB need to get mine up there and get a time in the new uno.
I have some pic of the day but have no lap top at the moment so i'll try get them on here this week.

I was gutted when the turbo give up. It's been two year now so itching like mad. As soon as it's back on the road it's going up there.
