Re: My latest project
Haha nice, whats the plans for this one then, staying at 1300cc?
Dont think i ever saw the finished pics of the other one, it looks stunning
Can remember seeing some vids though it bet that fun to drive with the rwd and torquer engine.
Have you ever had it on a dyno to get a rough idea to what its making?

This ones staying Mk1 lump which I think is the best engine for these cars. Haven't had the other car on the dyno yet, but its a hoot to drive and a bit naughty.

Re: My latest project
can't believe i've missed this section.
i love x19's i had a met blue one on a g reg think it was something like g--- gvg
it was a grand finale one but had black leather and the stitching had come undone, apparently they all do.
loved it but mine ended up needing welding everywhere lol
i'm looking forward to seeing this finished

Me too A grand finale with black leather = the stuff dreams are made off.doody wrote:i love x19's i had a met blue one on a g reg think it was something like g--- gvg

I once had the pleasure of borrowing an A reg X1/9 for 3 days - it had knackered brakes, tyres & suspension but it was one of the best 3 days of motoring fun I've ever had. If I had a garage to keep one in I'd have another in an instant!
Looking forward to more updates on this project

Re: My latest project
I've got a 1988 white X19 that i've kept for years and i'm middle of restoring and putting a Mk2 Uno turbo engine , should be fun when its finished!
I ended up buying 3 engines for it and my current running Uno Turbo car, which although is a bit rough was too good to break and too much fun to drive!
I love the way the Uno turbo engine really pulls in the Uno, really looking forward to being pushed by it in the x19

i had my one swap ends round a corner with a standard 1500 x19 engine which was interesting in a scary way. with an uno turbo engine in one would be terrifying.

Re: My latest project
haha, yeah when they let go they do scare the shit out of you, lost mine on a roundabout in Crawley doing about 60 in the wet! somehow did a full 360 and missed the curbs! and it used to aquaplane on motorways big time with the big 8" rims, skipping about a foot to left or right!
I don't think i'll drive it in the wet! i think thats why i've enjoyed driving the Uno so much, its more predictable
Engine is waiting to go in once the weather warms up so i can finish painting the engine bay and rear end, then i'll post up some pics
