wheel bolt problem
I'm trying to remove my wheels but i have a locking wheel nut that won't come off.
it's sort off halve undone but i think it's stripped the threads of either the bolt or in the hub, i'm guessing the bolt though as they don't seam to be as tough as the original bolts.
any ideas for me to remove it without removing the hub?

Don't think you'll get the hub off without removing the wheel, and you'll not get the wheel off with the wheel bolt in place (wheel nut if you had a stud conversion).
will it turn the other way so you can try and get some WD40 on it, or can you heat it up without ruining the wheel - heat is good at getting things moving.
If the wheel bolt is still stuck you'll either need to try harder to turn it (breaker bar) or drill the head so you can get the wheel off, but you'll need to replace the hub and bearing.
You could try an extractor tool but they can snap and you'll not drill through that - you'll be really stuck.

Re: wheel bolt problem
oh the MK2 i scrapped had a few bolts drilled / chiseled when i got it.
use plenty of copper grease on the wheel bolts to stop it happening again.
It took about 3 hours to get the front wheels off my MK1 after I took the wheel bolts off as they had seized to the hub. had to lie down under the car and kick with all my mite. Again copper grease on the face where hub meets wheel.
If your on the road you could always get the AA / rac out to change a flat tyre let them get the bugger off.

That don't sound too bad then - good tip from 190bhp - just remember to remove the other 3 bolts first and don't pull so hard that it falls off the axle stand

17 or 19 mil nut and weld it onto it or hammer a 32 sided socket onto it or got to halfords they usual have a variety of locking keys for them
