Marks MK1 Uno Turbo restore or scrap it project

maybe buying this wasnt such a good idea,

completely standard mk1 uno turbo, previous owner had it for 12 years, seems pretty solid but bodywork is tatty drives really well considering how bad it looks lol

I saw this on ebay and it was relatively local to me, I s ay save it!

Save it as there's less and less each year so the money you put into it you will get it back in the long run and be able to enjoy owning it for free if you decide to sell

i made a start on cleaning it up, removed the horrible stickers and gave it a wash, the previous owner has brush painted the car in places which i've been trying to remove without any luck,

the doors are shot along with one of the front wings, it does look a lot better i plan on having the wheels refurbished with some new tyres next,

bit gutted as the engine has started running on 3 cylinders so i need to start investigating why, i do a compression test and the engine showed good compression on all cylinders,

the passenger window didnt work which wasnt fun driving back in the heat, apparently it hasnt worked for 12 years, turned out to be the drivers side switch, i found a spare i had in my uno parts stash so thats sorted now

Looks a 100 times better with the stickers removed,also looks a very good complete car to start from,lets hope it can be saved.

Off with the plastic archs and skirts next?

i only plan on doing a clean up of the car not a full on restoration, its still taxed and has mot til next year, apart from the now miss firing it was working perfectly and was in daily use,

I'm going to be putting this car up forsale once I get it running as it was, just don't have the time or desire to restore it, going to concentrate on finishing my other black mk1, anyone want to make me an offer please feel free to pm me

When was the last time any of you seen a Mk1 engine bay as unmolested as this ?
