Uno Turbo ie mk2 (another one!)
Thought id make a start on another project im currently throwing too much money at haha!
So obviously being an Uno it needing welding even though I was told its "mint mayyyyyte" by the previous owner, they are never "mint" if not fully restored are they...
Had the car about 6 months now, stripped it virtually the 1st few days or ownership as I wanted the shock factor of tin worm out of the way asap lol
Its had welding internally on both sills front and both rear turrets but not to a great standard so had a guy come round and check the current work and also weld some more patches in.
So far ive bought some new Alloys Schmidt reps 15x8 et 25mm so that's another challenge to get fitment with a 60mm drop, Spax kit up next to buy.
Things to do, fit new turbo as its smoking its arse off have a Punto gt VL7 turbo unit to go on, cambelt kit, full service and fit new suspension amongst a million other crappy jobs!
Currently the car is gutted in prep for a re-paint which will happen next week onwards which is exciting, toying with the idea of a Candy Apple Red paint or indeed the factory Rosso racing red...
Any way a few pics, more updates to come.
As it arrived to me
Luckily I have the oem air filter box and pipe to go back on
A nice stock interior
Fitted my Comps but these have since been sold on
Found a new stock grille to replace the horrid butchered jobbie
Ok so onto the crappy stuff ie hunting for rot
George approves...I think!
Onto the rear turrets, usual crap so wasn't shocked tbh
Wings off for inspection and undersealing
Cleaned up welds and rust treated/primered
rears welded
Tried on a 16x8 Comp from my Punto gt with some bubble arches
In my garage just haha but it fits bit more work the other side inner wing
New rims
Trial fit, it spins at least
Phew! that's it for now, paint job next then refit time
