If the bodywork is good then go for it. There are some very nice conversions on here.
I've owned a good few Uno turbo's but have always wanted to start off with a clean standard uno. I've just bought a mk1 engine, turbo, gearbox, looms and ecu's so will be looking out for a standard Uno over the next few months.

Re: Opinion
an original uno turbo is always going to be more sought after for collectors, but a reshell or starting off with a standard uno is absolutly fine.
I have no problem with it whatsoever! go for it!

Cheers, it's just something I've been thinking about, as trying to get hold of a really good turbo is difficult and no doubt will be expensive.
I had the chance of one, but it needed work and I had nowhere to keep it.
If I got an engine and all the bits I could store them and then get the conversion done at my mates garage as he will be doing the work he would keep it there. (He just wouldn't store a car for me as it would take up the space for other customers cars, it's his living etc!!!)
