Re: mk1 gauges
You need to add an earth to the digi clocks to get them working in general which is pretty easy but then the boost gauge is another matter as the digi one uses an electronic feed from the Microplex ecu rather than the pipe that's plumbed into the back of the standard analogue clocks. From what I recall on TC and Fiat Forum (I think) it's pin 20 on the ecu and a solid green wire you're looking for.

On the subject of digi dash's, did anyone else know that Uno SX's could be had with digi clocks? (In Italy only I presume) I didn't until I stumbled across this vid:

Re: mk1 gauges
Oops I think I misread your original post! Yes, going from digi to analogue dials means you just need to add a pipe from the inlet system through the bulkhead and into the pipe connector on the back of the analogue dials.

Re: mk1 gauges
I might be wrong but I think it's the pipe highlighted in the photo below that ultimately goes to the back of the clocks for the analogue boost gauge:

Re: mk1 gauges
Yeah thats the right pipe for the boost gauge mate.
Not sure about the wiring tbh, but i dout it would hurt anything and should be pretty much a straight swap i think.
The only extra wire you are likly to have is the one from the microplex map sensor as mentioned above.
Maybe someone else has done the swap on here?

Re: mk1 gauges
cheers mate thats where i would of run it from but thanks for the clarification i just need a t piece and some pipe then as i only got one pipe to my ecu it wouldnt blow anything would it having that extra wire

Re: mk1 gauges
I wouldn't have thought so, on the analogue clocks it probably won't be making contact with anything when the multi-plugs are connected.robr33gts wrote:cheers mate thats where i would of run it from but thanks for the clarification i just need a t piece and some pipe then as i only got one pipe to my ecu it wouldnt blow anything would it having that extra wire

Re: mk1 gauges
Yeah really you need someone else to comfirm,as i have never swapped between dashes,at a guess though i cant see it doing any harm tbh.
Louie may possibly know how it works?
Maybe have a look through the wiring diagrams or contiuity check pin 20 of the microplex ecu plug back to the dash wiring and disconnect it.
I will have a look at them links above.

Re: mk1 gauges
Thinking about it, you're wanting to go digital > analogue, but I want to do the opposite, we should just swap for each others loom and it'll be job done for both of us!

Re: mk1 gauges
Electric mate, although even on cars with manual windows the plugs are lurking under the dash on either side to connect the 'leccy window motor wiring to if my memory serves me correctly

Re: mk1 gauges
Oh! That messes my theory up then. It was 18 years ago but I converted my original '86 Uno turbo from manual to electric windows (using the motors + wiring from another Uno) and I vaguely recall finding the plug connectors under either end of the dash, making it a pretty easy job. It was a long time ago though so I could be wrong! Perhaps if I'm in your neck of the woods at some point I'll drop by with my loom & we can compare. I've barely given mine a second glance, it's just curled up in a box in my shed awaiting attention.

Re: mk1 gauges
Yeah there the bullet connectors thingys,i dont think the electric windows wiring is intergrated in to the main loom as such, more of a seperate mini loom taped on.
The relay and fuse for them is just seperatly clipped onto the side of the fuse box.
Cant 100% remember where it gets its main power from, think possibly just plugs into the bottom of the fuse box somewhere,it is pretty simple to add/remove though if i remember correctly.

Re: mk1 gauges
Thought I'd fathom it out but it's not as simple as I expected in there
Sorry I never got to the bottom of which pin the digi dash uses for boost gage, but remember that every pin is used on my UT digi dash (original on the donor D reg Uno), but there are a few spare pins on the analogue
Why would you want to add electric windows if your already blessed with winders?

Re: mk1 gauges
i got the motors and door looms ect fairly cheap so seemed a good idea at the time to fit them but im keeping the winders now i hate the fact that most new cars have everything electric it just more stuff to go wrong in my opinion my other halfs car speedo sensor keeps goin plus other electrics i mean whats wrong with the old cable drive speedo and i want my uno build to be as reliable as poss
