Not an UNO Turbo BUT a great 3 door Mk2 Base for one
Hello all
I bought this off Ebay a couple of months ago because it is in great nick and I am a bit of a sucker for an UNO. (I am currently restoring a Mk1 SX ((5 dr unfortunately)). I have never had a turbo myself but a friend of mine had two Mk2's in the early 90's and I have liked them ever since. My first car was Mk1 45s Hence the SX I am restoring.) Back to the Mk2.
Its a 3 door 1.0 i.e with a genuine 41,000 miles. I have a little bit of history with it. It was in the same family since new, the first owner being an old dear who didn't drive it much, hence the low mileage. The son-in-law took it over in 2010 and used it for work a little. The head gasket blew earlier this year and I bought it with the blown head gasket. I have done plenty of these and so fixed it myself and it now runs perfectly. I have also changed the engine and filters. It has Yokohamas all round and the spare is original and never been on the car. MoT until 25/02/2014. Currently SORNed
The bodywork is very good from a rust perspective. I have been all over it, lifted the carpets etc to check out the common rust areas and there is none. No rust whatsoever. There is no sunroof to worry about either. The interior is clean with good carpets, seats and an unmolested parcel shelf. Even the original Grundig radio cassette works perfectly. Al the handbooks are present too.
The only real down side is the paintwork, apart from the colour itself (I was never a great fan of this colour) it got a myriad of scratches and little scrapes. And a small bump on the bonnet (pictured). I am sure most of the small blemishes would T-Cut out with some time. The bonnet bump needs filling and painting.
There is not much else to say except that any inspection is welcome etc etc.
