petrol cap surround

how to remove the plastic part that surrounds the petrol cap without breaking it?
it is glued, do i have to twist or is it a case of having to break it off and fit a new one?

there not glued mate just clips that go through and hook on managed to get the one of me turbo without breaking it with a screw driver from in the arch lever the clips away and pull from outside but the one on my 45 broke doin it this way i dont know if there is a easier way but there quite tricky without breaking them i think
