MK1 Uno Turbo i.e
thought i'd put up a thread on my uno, i've owned it for 10 years now my god time flies lol some might remember it from "back in the day" msn groups turbo collective when i first had it!
its come a long way since i bought it way back in 2003, now running punto gt1 management with a seb chip, wms 4 pots, oz lightweight wheels,
I will be having the uno mapped by fcp later on this year hoping for 200bhp+
got a few new bits for it already this yeah and will be looking to beat my current best of 14.6 down the 1/4 mile!

Re: MK1 Uno Turbo i.e
doody just make a start with it and i will help you on here, on your mk2 it would be easy and you could do it over a weekend if you have all the parts,
i dont have the guide anymore but i can write another one i can remember it all, you wont get 200bhp with the standard turbo, mine has a stage4 turbo dynamics hybrid,
have a look on puntosports forum a good turbo for yours would be a md103 they are good for nearly 200, there was one forsale on psc, http://www.puntosports.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?129524-Punto-Gt-MD103

Re: MK1 Uno Turbo i.e
i'm going to start doing stuff to the car next week hopefully.
i'm getting the bubbles sorted then i'll have a go at the engine and brakes.
i got all the bits needed from the puntosports forum a couple of months ago so i can't wait to start this.

Re: MK1 Uno Turbo i.e
are you going to fit punto gt brakes doody?
went up tp my garage where the uno is kept yesterday and started her up first time since about november last year it needs a good clean and a polish was covered in dust, fitted my new set of wheels, i really like them and think they suit it, going to get the rear bumper painted soon,
got a list of things that need sorting mainly the brakes! even though it had a new master cylinder a few years back they have always been pants so going to get hold of a pgt servo/master cylinder and get it fitted!

Mark, any chance you can list whats needed for a PGT conversion? Im thinking of going Omex but if the PGT can be done quite easily ill go down that route.

Re: MK1 Uno Turbo i.e
I'm still not convinced about the PGT management set up against the standard UT one, but I'm all ears ?.. Let us Know how you get on with Punto master / brake servo Mark?, as I've got a near complete PGT i'm not sure what to do with

i already have them fitted mate but the brakes are still pants.
i was thinking of using a master cylinder and servo from a mk2 punto cus the brakes got much better from around that sort time.

Re: MK1 Uno Turbo i.e
What Discs and pads are you guys using?, i've got grooved discs front and rear with hard ebc pads, on standard Mk2 brakes with braided hoses and they work real good, they do like to be warmed up a bit, also worked a treat on trackdays too

Re: MK1 Uno Turbo i.e
mine are standard uno turbo rear brakes and standard punto gt front ones.
i don't get enough feel from them.
my last UT had standard everything and the brakes were much better than what i have at the minute.

Re: MK1 Uno Turbo i.e
that sounds weird! youd think punto brakes would be better
I changed my rears from standard discs to grooved and they bite loads better
might be worth trying different dics / pads

Re: MK1 Uno Turbo i.e
i was really happy with it, that power is about right for the seb0 chip but more importantly it isnt running lean the ecu is fueling properly, i didnt turn the boost up more because there was only enough time for the one run,
next i want to take the fuel tank off and replace the pump and fuel pipes as they look really old and are way past it, would like to replace the tank with a plastic one it looks really rusty and there was spots of fuel on the floor underneath it when i got back home,
its leaking a bit of oil as well from i think the rocker gasket so will replace that too,

Re: MK1 Uno Turbo i.e
found out that my pace intercooler had a big hole in it which explains my funny idle, and poor boost control!
fitted my un painted front bumper, took a while to find one, skirts and arches are yet to go on also, im going to be sorting out the rear arches at the same time as fitted the new trim,
got hold of some new parts, bosch 044 fuel pump, 330cc injectors, gt2554r turbo, dr evil elbow, cosworth 4x4 intercooler and a set of federal 595rsr tyres for the front,
