Turbo ID with little information? Empty Turbo ID with little information?

Post by Slim Fri May 30, 2014 5:29 am

I have bought a low mileage Punto GT3 for parts - mainly the ECU and loom but the engine is sweet too. I was told by the previous owner that the car has had a hybrid turbo fitted by TurboTechnics (no proof as yet). I will be stripping it over the next few days so will be able to get more info. But I thought I might ask the question anyway - All I have at the moment is the word ''AIRsearch'' on the compressor housing. I know ''AIRsearch'' is Garrett's but is it one specific turbo or is the name given to a few different specs?

Cheers. What I can see from your pic is that mine has the same weld as the one on the right. I'll get a proper look over the weekend.
