does anyone know how to remove the bloody waxoil ? there is so much of it everywhere, it's doing my head in.

White spirit !! Lots of it !!

Keep refillable spray bottles to use to apply it onto areas to be cleaned, this saves wastage, penetrates effectively, but do wear gauntlet gloves, or else you will get durmy tight arse in your skin !!!  tongue

Spray and wipe, it will lift / float off easily, give it a chance to soak in and let it do its work.... get some panel wipe to thoroughly clean the surface if you intend to paint the areas you are cleaning waxoil off. Wipe on the panel wipe, wipe off with dry paper towel before it dries, maybe buy the slower drying solvent version...? more relevant in this instance rather than pre-paint, use the fast stuff over the surface when you have paint in a gun ready to fire !!

ok cheers Paul

slight update of my slow progress...

both rear sides were like this only I can't find the pic of the other side.

still got to do these.

roof had slight surface rust so cleaned it right back to shiny metal, used rust treatment on it (think it was "por ?" something or other) then a bit of zinc primer then a skim of filler which still hasn't been rubbed down yet.

did the same to other areas on the doors.

I have arches to do although they are solid they were heavy with filler so I have started to remove it just to double check there is no hidden rust. I've started to build up the shape again on one side.

not sure if im happy with these though, i'm tempted to put in new arches so the shape is there.

front towers, sorry I forgot to get pics of me welding some new metal in but I've put a slight skim of filler on top to make it look like it's never been done, well hopefully lol.

started rubbing the pant off the front valance and slam panel. these were showing rust but when I removed it the metal was great. for some reason there was a massive slice cut into the valance (Ant if your reading this, what happened there ?) got to weld that up aswell.

had to panel beat the front drives slam part where your bolt the bumper to as it was dented and slightly twisted, obviously something knocked it at some point in it's life.

that's as far as I have got to date. I still have the welding of the n/s rear arch as in pics, both rear boot floors, drivers floor, n/s sill right at the back, front valance.
i'm really not enjoying doing this though, i'm regretting taking this project on in some ways, just want to get driving it again lol
