Re: white mk2
thank you guys
rich i still have that grill, i'm always swapping them over cus i can't make up my mind which i like best lol
those flipping seat belts took me all day cleaning and scrubbing them, fairy liquid and washing power was great getting the oil out-ish.
i'm really having a wobble about selling it now.
i've had so many offers of swaps or money and swaps it's unreal.
there is still so much interest in these little cars even now.

Re: white mk2
yup going to pull the advert off, going to leave it till tomorrow as i've had several people with uno turbo's or wanting UT's or just needing parts contact me.
i've directed all here.
what i have found out about uno turbo's now is that nearly everyone i spoke to that was genuinely interested wants a bog standard UT, no mods at all not even the wheels.
so i guess if you want top money it really has to exactly as it left the factory.
i even had one guy say do i still have the original stereo...

Re: white mk2
I've started stripping mine now as i'm going to do a light resto project.
you guy's may remember me talk about the rust bubbles on the doors.
i was halve expecting to have to replace the passenger one but having a look and a poke the other day they are both very solid, no holes at all. i have got the wire brush to the passenger one and got the bulk of it off but i think some sanding and treating then some oxi primer and reseal then prime may just do the trick.
now the suspension towers at the front, one has a thumb nail size hole in & the other side only just halve that size again now i've poked them about so do i patch up or try and buy a complete section? there isn't much rust passed these holes though.
looking into the car now all the seats, carpet, trims have been removed i thought i'd remove the cracked/pealing sound proofing pads to the floor and redo because it all looked mint a few weeks ago when i swapped to the mk1's red carpet...
however having removed the sound deadening i got a bit of a shock and found rust, not massive amounts and only on the drivers foot-well but 3 holes which look to be where the little vent parts are (hoping i made sense there).
i'm totally gutted as i thought this was so so very mint. after a few gutted text messages to Jimmy he came round to have a look and made me feel a little better as he said it doesn't look to bad to be honest but i'm still a tad gutted.
(should i replace the floor on the drivers side or patch up?)
the rear turrets and boot floor are mint though with no rust at all as are the sills and pretty much everywhere else.
all that brown-ish colour is wax-oil not rust in fact there is so much wax-oil all over the car it's doing my head in, everything i touch is bloody sticky.
i did find this pic funny though...
drivers side rear arch will need reshaping, it's solid but had quite a bit of filler in so took it off to treat the metal. at least reshaping is easy!
passenger side rear arch is going to need a patch welded in right at the back where the bumper bolts to but may replace the whole thing that side not sure. i have got pics of these but they don't really show up the area enough, i'll try and get some more taken.
i've bought a complete body kit & door seals from Italy (thanks to Louie i think it was) that put a link up.
i'm going to be putting that other engine i have in thats done 55,000 miles but should i still replace the bearings and rings as it's been sat around for a long time i think ?
i'm going to be rebuilding the head and as you all know going punto gt set up.
oh by the way i'm keeping it standard colour now.
do i remove all the under-seal from under the car to put fresh stuff on and if so what can i use to get it all off ?

Re: white mk2
yeah it has crossed my mind but i want to keep it as a genuine uno turbo.
i can sort these things out though just disappointed as i thought it was in pretty much excellent condition apart from the rust bubbles on the doors and two bits on the suspension turrets at the front.
it will be looking great again though, hopefully looking better than before.

no not yet, it will be going on my other engine but i'm stripping the whole car and welding the little area's then it's getting a respray first.
i'm not managing to get enough time to do the car as i'm trying to decorate the house as it needs some major work.
i've also got to still do work on my everyday car (fiat multipla) first also.
hope to have my car back on the road early next year.
also i keep meaning to ask you, i have the punto gt3 ecu and all the wiring and sensors etc . with a seb4 chip. i'm wondering if i can get a chip to remove the immobilizer off that guy on the punto sports forum?

Re: white mk2
you need a gt1 ecu, because the gt3 engine is much higher compression where as the gt1 engine is lower (same as the mk2 uno)
also that gt3 ecu has a immobiliser and will only work with a coded key, you would need a specific seb chip which removes the immobilisers but hans off puntosports no longer sells the seb chips, the place that they came from in italy is now shut down so the chances of you getting one are very very slim. your best off changing to a gt1 ecu,
the seb4 chip is for 200bhp+ you will need a uprated fuel pump, front mount intercooler, hybrid turbo (that md103 is fine) full exhaust etc
unfortunatly the seb chips are ecu specific so you would need a seb0 or seb4 gt1 ecu chip, your seb4 gt chip wouldnt work in a gt1 ecu

Re: white mk2
here are the specs for the seb chips
Seb0 - GT1 running a recommended 1.2bar, you can run upto 1.35bar in short burts.
Use a bleed valve or other boost control device (NOT the original pierburg valve),
Direct airfilter (induction kit),
Free flowing exhaust (magnex, scorpion, peco, Janspeed, Powerflow etc)
Catalyst or no catalyst (Scorpion Decat pipe).
This will return in the region of 160-165hp on a standard car (~170hp @ 1.35bar).
7300rpm limiter and 3bar boost cuts.
Mapped for power.
Seb 4 GT1 using a bleed valve or other boost control device (NOT the original pierburg valve)
Its recommended running either a larger intercooler (Pace front mount or other) whilst running such high boost.
Stage 2 turbo, uprated injectors or FSE.
Direct airfilter (induction kit),
Free flowing exhaust (magnex, scorpion, peco, Janspeed, Powerflow etc)
NO CATALYST (Decat pipe).
uprated fuel pump
This will return in the region of 190/200hp on a standard car.
7300rpm limiter and 3bar boost cuts.

Re: white mk2
so will i still be able to use the loom and all the other bit's with a gt1 ecu?
i've got most of the bit's in those lists even the punto gt injectors.
i have to get a bigger inter-cooler, fuel pump & injectors then.

Re: white mk2
just use the gt injectors, you will need a larger intercooler to run seb4 defo, the standard intercooler and fuel pump would be ok on a seb0 chip but i'd upgrade them anyway, i dont know if your fuel pump is in tank or external it might be ok but i know for defo the punto gt fuel pump needs upgrading to run seb4
have you got a gt1 inlet or gt3? you should be ok with the loom and all the other bits its just the ecu you defo need a gt1 ecu

Re: white mk2
it's all gt3 stuff i got, will the manifold be ok then. bit gutted then if not.
i intend to get a bigger intercooler but i'm not going to cut the bumper so hopefully will try and get one that fits behind.
i don't know what fuel pump to get either, i was thinking rs turbo one like i've seen in a thread on here.

i'm looking into an intercooler that my brother has in his vectra at the minute to try and fit between the radiator and the bumper if i can without cutting any part on the bumper.
no i still haven't started putting any bit's on yet mate, haven't even got around to it yet, so many things to do and not enough days in the week.

Re: white mk2
slight update, sorry no pictures though.
i've moved the car from my mums (as i wasn't/hadn't worked on it for months) with the help of Jimmy's mate and his flat bed. this proved to be a complete pain in the arse.
on getting the car out mums garage the bloody ball joint snapped clean in half.
it split the CV joint apart too and very nearly took my wing off.
took bloody ages to get it onto the truck.
then hours and lots of swearing to get it into my garden in the position i wanted it.
i was totally knackered by then and to be honest i just wanted to scrap the bloody thing.
right now i'm pretty much sick of the site of it, but at least i can start working on it again.
so hopefully will be adding some progress on here soon.
my goal is to have it resprayed in the next 2-3 months or at least before Christmas.
