max 4000 rpm 100mph problem
Morning guys thought car was fine so went to work in it this morning. On a long private road floored the car and it would not rev past 4000 rpm and 100mph. What could be the cause. Air leaks. Spark plugs fooked turbo. Any ideas i am going to be booking in to a rolling road session soon hope that might help. Cheers for any info Deano. Need it right for Retro day.

Fuel blockage. My pre pump filter blocked up and caused massive fuel starvation. Fuel had formed a jelly inside the filter

Definitely down to fuel or ignition. Will it not exceed 4000 rpm in any gear? If so, either fuel starvation as Caspian suggests, or an ignition fault. My guess fuelling, as the ignition ECU rarely gives issues. Might also be worth checking the air intake side for restrictions too, though I doubt it would cause the revs to limit themselves to 4000 rpm every time.
