Does anybody know for sure what month & year the 1301cc (unleaded-friendly) engine replaced the 1299cc engine?

Likewise, any date when the T U R B O side graphics were replaced with the Turbo i.e. graphics?

Theoretically, all UT engines can run on unleaded as having an alloy head they were fitted with hardened valve inserts from the factory. Furthermore, I believe the UT has a knock sensor, therefore it will automatically adjust the timing for unleaded. I think the latter is correct, might need a UT owner to confirm?

My Uno is running a 1981 1500 X19 engine (normally aspirated). Haven't had any issues so far with running it on unleaded. Can't say the same about the gearbox, as the extra power from the X19 lump seems to be finishing off the bearings... Sad

Don't know actual dates, but I've only seen B and C reg cars with the big turbo decals.

Apart from this one..But I only put these on because apparently black phase 2 cars don't come with decals?

I've always understood that only B & C reg cars had the T U R B O graphics, D - G reg had the stripes with inset 'turbo i.e.' but in subtly different colours depending on the base colour of the car. e.g. a red car had black main stripes, a grey top stripe and the 'turbo i.e.' cut in black, but a white car would have black main stripes, a red top stripe and 'turbo i.e.' cut in red.

Anti-skid cars had different graphics again, with a thicker black main stripe.

Right - I've found out that the T U R B O graphics were replaced in June 1986.
Also, the restyled alloys (two-tone) and Antiskid option were available from August 1988.
