what turbo are you using?

The workshop is my dads so very handy at times. I'm going to keep the bumper for now. The turbo is standard T2 that comes with the engine but i'm thinking of a gt 28 rs next year Smile

Once the engine was in I then set about connecting all the wires up, made the gear links, fitted one of the drive shaft I will need to make one or buy the other one.

Live to coil from the uno turbo loom and blue go's to the rev counter.

Live to the lancia engine loom.

Red wire go's to the fuel pump, black is the switch live.

I'm going to use the intercooler that I had on my red uno as the bumper is already cut out for it, so all I had to do was make the pipe for it. I'm going to use 64mm 2 1/2" from turbo to inlet.
From intercooler to inlet was made up of bits of pipe that I already had so I used that but at some point I will make it all out of aluminium.

I then made up the bottom rad hose and had the top one made to fit all the red pipes are SFS silicone pipes. I've not fitted the top one yet as I've needed the rad out the way.

Fitted these adjustable pulleys.

fitted the front bumper

I have had the engine running not for a long time as I had no coolant in as I just wonted to try and start it but all I've had is oil leaks, so I've fitted two new sump gasket and new cam box gaskets. I started it up last night and had a good look and then I see that I've got oil coming form the side of the engine.
so mite not off been the sump gasket. scratch Now I think its the crank oil seal. If I get time this weekend I will pull the box of and have a good look round Sad

Thanks mate, It dose sit well dont have much room. I'm to looking forward to see how it go's if i can stop the oil leaking from it.
I've got the gearbox off but not had the time yet to see were its coming from as it was very late the other night.
Well have an up date tomorrow on my engine. Sam has a lancia engine to so may just put his one in as it was a runner when removed. Very Happy

I got the clutch and flywheel off tonight to see if I can see where the oil is coming from but when I removed the flywheel there was no oil on the back of it? scratch

So I then removed the seal and had a good look and all I can see is the spring that go's around inside the seal was not on so i'm hoping that is it.

Will order a new gasket, seal, and going to try a rubber sump gasket.

Well I've now put the cluch, gearbox back on and put some water in the engine so I can run it and see if I have stop the oil leaks that I had.
I have two small water leaks and still have the oil leaks Mad so bit piss about that. I did see oil coming out of the cam box blank plate so i'll remove that and put some gasket seller on.This may be were its coming from and dripping down?

Thanks mate getting there now but just need the sort the leaks out.

When up last night and had a look and now I think its coming out of a plate on the side of the block at the top? if it is then the gearbox will have to come of again. Sad

If you mean the square (ish) plate above the crankshaft oil seal, that is a water gallery blanking plate. My 1500 X19 engine had a tiny water leak from there, just at the top, and also from the crankshaft oil seal, which I only discovered after I fitted the gearbox and ran the car. Yes, the gearbox had to come off again just to sort it all out pale

The good news was that after replacing the water gallery plate gasket and fitting a new crankshaft oil seal (and the gasket for its mounting plate) - no more leaks cheers

Hope you get yours sorted too!

Thanks chas, the oil must be coming from the head gasket then, I'm getting a bit pissed off with it now. lol
I did wonder if that was a water gallery.

Little up date I've fitted a slim line fan and run the engine up to temp and it work fine. I had the down pipe modified to fit onto the scorpion exhaust and
fitted the other seat to.

Today I went up to an airfield to drive the uno and all is good drives very well but i need to fit a new cv joint as its knocking the one on is new so i will just take it back.
