Hi all,

Good to find a new (albeit temporary) home for the fallen TC. I was getting Uno chat withdrawal symptoms!

I still have my three mk1 Unos (2 x 70SX, 1 x 45S). Just finished dropping a 1.5 litre X1/9 engine into my daily driver 70SX, had a few issues with the conversion but it goes really well now. Will have to get round to putting up a thread about it on here so you can see what it's all about. It's quite the sleeper now, put it that way Wink

I have plans for my other 70SX, and one day I'd like to do something interesting with my 45S too.

Anyway, good to be back!

Addictive little things aren't they? Even the non turbo models are fun to drive!

I must do a thread on my 1500 X19 into Uno swap at some point. It's kind of weird, as initially it didn't feel much different to the 1300, it is the same basic engine design (Lampredi OHC) so not that unexpected. Where it is really noticeable is on motorways as the midrange is massively improved. Now you can floor it at 70mph and it accelerates hard to 90mph without even thinking. 100mph comes along pretty quick too. I don't want to thrash it too much just yet as it's running the 1300 SX carburettor (which is actually jetted for an 1116cc engine!) I need to get round to rebuilding the X19 carburettor, a Weber 34 DATR. That should get the carburation correct and unleash a few more ponies into the bargain. Twisted Evil

Here's a picture of the engine all cleaned up and with some paint:

And here it is sitting in its new home: cheers

Yeah i agree even with the 999cc fire engine i had fun,i surpose its just the feeling of speed an uno gives in general.

Sounds and looks good mate, although i would go steady until you get the carb sorted,my car started destroying the headgasket running lean and was luckey it was not the pistons, although i am sure you will have more lee way with n/a.

Nothing like a fast uno though, they were sleepers a decade ago and knowadays hardly anyone expects a 25 year old car let alone an uno to perform like they do Cool
